Coaching For a Cause Calls for a Shift in Corporate Charitable Giving by Focusing on Long-term Impact
Through the Coaching for a Cause program, ActionCOACH will extend a helping hand to charities worldwide to create a massive impact long-term.

Rarely do corporations ever seek to extend a long-term commitment to a charitable program. Just giving to charities and non-profits presents a rather microscopic view of philanthropy and it is critical corporations also look at running programs that focus on long-term impact.
For this very reason, ActionCOACH founder and CEO Brad Sugars has now extended his business coaching company's philosophy to non-profits with the launch of the Coaching for a Cause pro bono coaching program.
Sugars has a clearly divergent view on the topic, and it streams from a personal experience.
"I have been a major benefactor for various charities for a very long time. While I understand that charitable giving helps non-profits and charities, the biggest impact I ever made on a charity was when I was on the Board of Variety Club -a well-known, global children's charity," he said.
"Instead of just giving to these charities, we need to teach them how to raise donations -time and again, and that's where the real impact is," Sugars said.
Most recently, at the company's 10th annual Global conference which also marks its 16th anniversary, Sugars officially announced Coaching for a Cause, the company's first-ever global, pro bono coaching program that will help charities and non-profits worldwide raise donations and better manage their funds. More than 200 top Business Coaches from all over the world witnessed first-hand the excitement generated by the announcement of this massive outreach program.
Coaching for a Cause will run from October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. With a total of over 6000 hours pledged for pro bono coaching so far, the program is valued at approximately $1.8 million (USD).
Coaching for a Cause will ultimately help charities and non-profits around the world raise a total of at least $5 million in additional donations during the six-month period of the program.
Coaching for a Cause is an innovative, new program from ActionCOACH, the world's number one business and executive coaching firm that makes pro-bono coaching available to charities and non-profits worldwide.
