February 11, 2014

Las Vegas- The Business Excellence Awards were held on Friday January 31, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Eighteen companies won awards in eighteen categories and the Women’s Wellness OB/GYN at Winthrop University Hospital won the award for Most Community Impact.

The Business Excellence Awards honor the “best of the best” results in small and medium sized businesses from around the world, and showcases exceptional results for business owners, entrepreneurs, their teams and their companies. Cancer Center for Kids offers the best of care to children facing incredible challenges to their health and work hard to improve both the quality and length of their patients’ lives.

Their story was a natural fit for the Business Excellence Forum and Awards, which are sponsored by ActionCOACH, the world’s number one business coaching firm. Winthrop Hospital’s Cancer Center for Kids also earned a Business Excellence Award in the category of Best Not-for-Profit. ActionCOACH Founder and Chairman Brad Sugars presented both awards to Ammara Chowdhry, who represented the hospital.

“Thanks to the vision of our leadership at Winthrop University Hospital, we can do incredible things in the treatment of the entire family, not just the patient, on a primarily outpatient basis,” Chowdhry said. “Before we opened the Women's Wellness Center, the community was underserved. Today we’ve made a tremendous impact in our community and beyond.”

The 2014 Business Excellence Awards and the 2014 Business Excellence Forum are sponsored by ActionCOACH, the world’s number one business coaching firm. The events are part of the company’s on-going commitment to innovation, business excellence and business re-education for owners and teams who operate and work in small-and-medium sized businesses.

“The work we do with our ActionCOACH, Michael Breitman, helps keep our entire team focused, accountable and pushing to succeed in, often, unconventional means,” Chowdhry said. “His guidance, support and openness to try whatever it takes to achieve our dreams have made a huge, positive impact on the hospital and our ability to treat as many patients as possible.”

In addition to the awards ceremony, the Business Excellence Forum featured seminars with top speakers in the world of business, including the Leadership Guru Marshall Goldsmith and ActionCOACH Founder and ChairmanBrad Sugars, as well as breakout sessions with top business coaches from around the world.
